The Great Debate...
We are three (one Vice President and two Presidential) Debates into the Fall. They have been… interesting (I would like to stay apolitical on this topic, for reasons that will make sense).
As the first Debate was on a Monday, I listened to a brief section on the radio and caught up on Twitter and Facebook while waiting for Yoga class to start. Later in the evening, I watched segments on youtube.com and Facebook as well as commentary from the Podcast “Keeping It 1600”.
I tried mightily to not get drawn into the Vice Presidential Debate, but I needed to dust and N.C.I.S. was going to be on immediately afterwards. I will leave the Debate results to the pundits, but let’s just say that I got my dusting done in time to sit on the couch and watch regularly scheduled programming.
For the second Presidential, third overall, Debate, I was torn between it and Sunday Night Football. Even though I’m an “old” Millennial, second screening comes in very handy when you only have one TV. And you best believe that the Debate got bumped to Twitter’s livestream on my iPad in favor of the Packers beatdown of the Giants.
My point in all of this is that each of the Debates has aired against sports:
-First Debate against Monday Night Football
-Vice Presidential Debate against MLB American League Wildcard Game
-Second Presidential Debate against Sunday Night Football
-Third Presidential Debate will air against Game 4 of the National League Championship Series (airing on Fox) and Game 5 of the American League Championship Series (airing on TBS).
I’m curious to know if anyone else has been using their second screens to watch either the debates, sports or other shows? And, if so how will you be watching the last Debate?
As for me, I’m making plans to watch baseball on TV and the debate on my iPad.
