Born and raised in California, Anna is proud to call the Golden State home.
Anna is a proud Aggie, attending the University of California, Davis and graduating with a B.A. in Political Science in 2003.
In the following years, Anna has made her home in Sacramento, tackling home improvement projects and, most recently, how to garden during a drought! She shares her home with her cat, Milo, and three rescue dogs.
My sweet Benson
I can’t believe that it’s been almost a week since you left for the rainbow bridge.
I’m that person who lets the dog up on the sofa and sleep on the bed, and right now the house is too big, too empty.
Thank you @homewardboundgoldenrescue for trusting me to care for this shy, sweet boy, who held his spot on the sofa ever since he came home. It was glorious to see this shaggy, skinny and sick dog become soft, sweet and best of all healthy.
Run free Benson Bear... I know we will meet again at the Bridge.
From the ACLU:
ACLU: If you or anyone in your circle plans to physically protest soon – read up on your rights and risks here, then share & save our image to keep with you: aclu.org/kyr-blm. And to everyone taking to the streets in cities across the U.S. right now, demanding justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and the countless other Black people who have been killed by police: We're with you and we have your back.

It has been a really hard week....this past Thursday I had to say goodbye to Nala dog, who has been the designated leader of the pack pretty much since the first day since coming home as a rather smelly and itchy foster dog in 2017. Damn cancer got her and took her quickly.
The one “good” part of all this is being able to work from home, which allowed me to spend more time with all of the dogs as well as be with Nala and our beloved Dr. Codde when it was time to say goodbye. Thank you @homewardboundgoldenrescue for entrusting me with Nala’s care, weekly bubble baths and lots (and lots) of ear meds.
Being able to foster dogs has been one of the greatest joys in my life, and while saying goodbye is never easy, I won’t close my door to a dog that needs a place to crash.
Give your pups an extra squeeze and a boop for Miss Nala.
This was a really fun evening, and we will do it again soon. In the meantime, wash your hands, wear a mask, and stay home if you can.

Today is National Rescue Dog Day, also known as the best day ever.
Adopting a dog, through bad times and good, is one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made, and I can’t recommend it enough.
Thank you @homewardboundgoldenrescue for all that you do.
